The Whole Child

We believe children come into the world as a whole person, not a lump of clay to be molded or a system that needs downloading. We teach from three educational instruments- the atmosphere of environment, the discipline of habit, and the presentation of living ideas. We supply a full and generous curriculum that leads children to begin to understand how their existence fits into their world.

CHARLOTTE MASON TEACHING METHOD

Using the Charlotte Mason style of teaching, we use great works of literature called "Living Books" to draw out every lesson from math, reading, and science to music, art, and poetry. These great books inspire wonder and play that can foster a lifetime of love for learning.

LIVING BOOKS

Using a complete curriculum through Winter Promise Publishing, your child will be engaged in a schedule that is full of life, fun, and learning. We receive all of our supplemental books from our local Living Books Library. Taken from the Golden Age of children's literature, our books are considered "alive" in their content, from their hand drawn or painted depictions to their beautiful use of language.

A COMPLETE EDUCATION

Music and Poetry

Every gathering includes music that relates to the lesson of the week, whether that be listening to great composers, constructing our own instruments, or learning new songs as a fun way to memorize.

Creative Play

Every week your child can look forward to a new display of interactive play on our "Come See About Something" table. Whether it is a farm scene with many textures and props, a building game, or a fun array of puzzles - this "hands on-start conversing" greets them on their arrival so the fun begins right away!

Private Library Membership

Did you know we a have a Living Books Library right here in Abacoa? We take advantage of this great resource as members so we always have a supply of living books that enhance our curriculum.

After 22 years of operating our original 20,000-volume Michigan library, we have now opened a second Florida location! We already have several thousand scarce living books here, with many thousand more available. Of course, Michelle--founder and nationally known author/speaker/columnist on profound education and living literature--can personally encourage your unique family along this journey also. Learning how to treat each other right helps us to understand how to create a safe and peaceful environment. Our Charlotte Mason Motto is:

Art

Our Art program is derived directly from our bright and inviting curriculum that allows for lots of imagination and personal touches. This is a time of great fun while learning to use our tools properly.

Progress Tracking through Southwestern Advantage

Endorsed by Dave Ramsey, our fun computer program allows your child to play games using only the "click and drag mouse" option, steering them away from finger dragging. Each student has their own profile that is parent accessed, and progress is tracked with each game. Children can continue their learning-play at home or on the go.
